Exercise Physiology Testing

Body Composition

Body Composition: Double

£80.00

Description

Pay for two Body Composition sessions and save £10.

Using our BodPod, we can determine body fat percentage and fat-free mass (muscle, bone, organs). This is a highly accurate test which can detect small changes in body composition so can be used to measure the success of nutritional interventions and/or exercise programmes. Resting metabolic rate can be estimated too along with total energy expenditure.

Energy Expenditure

Energy Expenditure

£120.00

Description

Using our breath-by-breath gas analysis machine, you will wear a gas sample mask to allow respiratory measures to be determined which are used to calculate the number of calories you use at rest (resting metabolic rate) and during exercise.

Lactate Threshold

Lactate Threshold - Standard Report

£120.00

Description

A Lactate Threshold test identifies blood lactate transition thresholds which can be specified as a running speed, power output or heart rate and can be used to develop training zones. After performing this test, a basic report will be produced which includes identification of lactate thresholds and training zones.

Lactate Threshold

Lactate Threshold - Enhanced Report

£145.00

Description

A Lactate Threshold test identifies blood lactate transition thresholds which can be specified as a running speed, power output or heart rate and can be used to develop training zones. After performing this test, an enhanced report will be produced which includes identification of lactate thresholds and training zones, as well as analysis of current training, race paces and goals relative to the lactate curve.

VO2MAX

Maximal Oxygen Uptake

£100.00

Description

The highest amount of oxygen an individual can use during exercise is known as maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) and indicates one’s aerobic potential. This is the gold standard measure of aerobic capacity. This test also measures your peak aerobic power or running speed along with maximal heart rate and the data can be used for setting training intensities. The test is a maximal test that will push you to exhaustion.
