This 10-day training programme is designed to help you to dive into the complex TV studio production and build a thriving media business. From entertainment, magazine shows and formatted productions to, workflows and processes, you’ll be guided by industry figures from some of the UK’s best studios. We’ll help you understand the process of TV studio production from gallery floor to green screen. and gain invaluable knowledge on how to develop successful returning formats for international territories, from negotiating intellectual property rights to monetising your assets. Most importantly, we’ll help you to develop a clear strategic vision, build vital skills in managing teams, pitching for investment and mastering the latest market trends.

Course Description

Who is it for?

This course is open to anyone with an interest in working with studio formats. We welcome international delegates interested in working on formatted production and growing sustainable businesses

What you will learn:

Understand studio-based commissions – how to work professionally with broadcasters and production contracts
Build a successful production team – hire the right creative and technical staff & freelancers, learn how to read CV’s and portfolios
Master finances – produce workable budgets for TV shows including cash flows, cost accounting and reporting back
Understand legal responsibilities – compliance, insurances, health & safety
Implement logistics – design multi-formatted studio-based schedules including set building and cost implications of the workflow
Develop key organisational skills – understand vital paperwork to keep productions safe, legal and on budget
Work with professional services – build relationships with accountants and lawyers to keep payments and legals on track
Consider mental health and wellbeing – ensure staff, freelancers, cast and crew are supported with health and welfare policies
Understand the full production workflow – the technical and creative aspects of TV studio productions
