Evaluating & Undertaking Health Impact Assessments (HIA)

Cohort 1 January 2025

This course aims to give all those involved in either assessing or producing HIAs an overview of the appropriate processes and methods, and provide examples of how HIAs have impacted on UK public sector decision making and has been developed with the Office for Health Improvement & Disparities (North West).

Course Description

Course objectives:

• Understanding the place of health impact assessments in public sector decision making
• Understanding the underlying principles and processes of health impact assessments
• Analysing and critiquing published health impact assessments
• Developing health impact assessments for public sector projects
