The Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness course invites you to join a post-graduate level module that aims to enable professionals to safely and effectively integrate mindfulness based approaches into their professional practice.

Course Description

The Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness module is a post-graduate level module that aims to enable professionals to safely and effectively integrate mindfulness based approaches into their professional practice.

There is a particular focus on how to tailor mindfulness interventions to meet the needs of each individual, especially where there may be a history of trauma.
The module comprises theoretical, clinical experiential and skills related content so that, within the bounds of your exiting professional competencies, you will be able to integrate mindfulness approaches into your practice.

This module is delivered online only over series of 11 weekly 3 hour sessions. The module is one of the options on our MSc Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies, MSc Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, and MSci Counselling and Psychotherapy: Professional Practice programmes.

You will be joining students from these programmes completing the module with assessments. You, however, will be joining the module as attendance only and so will not be doing any assessments (so feel free to miss the assignment tutorial sessions if you prefer).
You will receive an attendance certificate if you complete 80% of the sessions. 

The module is delivered by Tim Duerden who is a practicing counsellor, CBT therapist and hypnotherapist with training in a range of mindfulness based approaches including Breathworks, MBCT and MBSR. With a group of colleagues he has developed Integrated Mindfulness and Mindfuln
