The University of Salford, in association with NHS GM and National Organisation for FASD, will be hosting a one-day conference on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), to celebrate the progress made in knowledge and understanding of the condition in the UK in over the past twenty years and to highlight the current priorities.

Featuring current research, policy and practice in FASD, this event will be of interest to policy makers, clinicians, researchers, practitioners and people who support and care for those with FASD and people living with FASD. 

We are pleased to announce a draft outline of the day:

Plenary Talks:

  • FASD in the UK: Where we’ve been and what’s changing From Raja Mukherjee
  • How we want to be treated – manifesto from people with FASD
  • Lived experience – featuring families affected by FASD
  • Photo based narrative living with FASD from Miranda Eodanable
  • Implications of FASD for Criminal Justice from David Gilbert

A 'round robin' session on research and innovation in prevention, diagnosis and support from leading experts Dr Mike Suttie, Dr Alan Price, Roisin Reynolds and Rachael Nielsen(NHS GM).

Breakout sessions:

  • 3D imaging practical session
  • Helping someone to understand their diagnosis
  • Emerging clinical pathways
  • Training the workforce
