School of the Built Environment: Digital Prototyping Workshop
SoBE’s Digital Prototyping Workshop is a facility which supports the production of highly accurate model parts, architectural model pieces and finished 3D models. The workshop comprises of a 3D printer, 2*Laser engraver/cutters and a 3-axis milling machine. The workshop is based in New Adelphi building – room 2.34 and is a supervised activity workshop.
Payments made here go towards use/maintenance of the Digital Workshop equipment and any stock material used.
Before making any payments, and at least 2 weeks in advance of intended use of any equipment, you must first contact SoBE’s Technical Demonstrators to:
The payment amount will vary depending on type of work required which will be identified following discussion with a SoBE Technical Demonstrator.
Once you know the amount to pay, enter it in the ‘Amount’ field for the relevant option below and click Add to Basket. The options indicate what type of user you are – as follows:
Only approved materials are permitted for use on the workshop machines, therefore, if you wish to use your own materials, you must first have these approved by a SoBE Technical Demonstrator prior to making a workshop booking.
